Accredited entities

Anglian Water Services supports and recognises the advantages of suitable efficient markets. As a result AWS has developed an Accredited Entity Scheme to allow Retailers, operating in our area, the opportunity to undertake metering and disconnection activities in line with the Market Codes and the requirements of the Scheme. To carry out these activities, Retailers or their nominated service providers will need to be certified as an Accredited Entity. The AWS scheme will be administered by Lloyd's Register and they will carry out the initial accreditation assessments, certification and on-going monitoring on behalf of AWS. Details of the Accredited Entity scheme and how to apply for accreditation are available on the Lloyd's Register website. You will find a dedicated section entitled WIRSAE (Water Industry Registration Scheme Accredited Entity Scheme).

In addition to the Scheme documents available from the Lloyd’s Register website, Accredited Entities will need to comply with Anglian Water Water’s Addendum to the Generic Code of Practice for carrying out Metering and Disconnection activities in the Anglian Water region and sign an agreement with Anglian Water. Details of this Addendum and agreement are available below. Should you have any queries please get in touch through the Wholesale Service Centre at wsc@anglianwater.co.uk.
